Welcome To Our Alumnae Organisation - The BRHOGG
The Bath and Royal High Old Girls’ Guild is the organisation which seeks to bring together and maintain contact with former students and staff of the Royal High School, Bath and of the former Bath High School. The Guild’s President is the Headteacher, ex officio, with retired Heads as Vice-Presidents. The Guild is run by a small committee, led currently by Hilary Williams as Chairman. Other officers are Lynda Bevan (Staff representative), Pamela Gooding (Treasurer), Felicity McAvoy (Membership Registrar and Newsletter Editor) and Suellen Pedley (Benevolent Fund); the position of Meetings and Minutes Secretary is held at present by Jane Woolrich who will retire at the next Reunion. There is also a number of other committee members.
Membership is open to all former students and staff of both schools. To join, use the enrolment form (download below) which should be printed and posted together with a sterling cheque as described on the form. As a member, you will receive a Newsletter twice a year with news from the school and from other members. You will also receive information about our annual Reunion, held usually in the autumn, and other occasional events. The Guild operates a small Benevolent Fund which is used to send small gifts, cards and flowers to any member in need of cheering up, usually for reasons of illness or bereavement.
We know that ‘Old Girls’ is not the most enticing phrase but we shall have to change the name in 2010 when the Sixth Form College boys become eligible to join. So, if you have any good ideas for a new name, or just want a bit more information please contact:

Celebratory Reunion Event
To celebrate the 10th birthday of The Royal High School, former students, staff and governors who have left in the past decade were invited to school on Saturday 2nd May for a celebratory reunion.
It was a real nostalgia high for the hundred or so former students, governors and staff who attended the reunion. Sound levels rose as alumnae who had lost touch greeted each other with loud exclamations and caught up on the news of the intervening years. Staff, past and present, mingled with students and with much laughter, went over past times! Speeches were kept to a minimum but the Heads offered well chosen, apt words. Miss Winfield was her usual bubbly self and enjoyed reminiscing with many of her old students. After a delicious lunch and a walk in the sunny grounds, the students wandered off to more celebrations, delighted that they had come back. All left very impressed by the facilities – not to mention envious!
