Year 3 Visit to The Living Rainforest

Thu 12 Jun, 2008

Our Year 3 children enjoyed a wonderful day at 'The Living Rainforest' in Berkshire today. Under a huge glass canopy we saw free ranging butterflies and birds alongside the tropical plants and animals from all over the world.  We also discovered a lot about the many different foods we eat that come from tropical climates.

The girls wrote postcards that they sent in the post to home. Here is what Isabella Francomb wrote on her card to her Mummy and Daddy: When we went to the Rainforest, the first thing we felt it was hot and damp. It felt like a new world. Some leaves were red and purple, some were so big we had to limbo under them! We saw some monkeys. They were called Gheldi monkeys. You have to be careful of the Dumbcane tree because it is poisonous. I liked the stingrays the best because they kept on floating about. We saw a crocodile called Courtney.Do look at the photos from the link at the top of this page.
