Year 5 Design Technology Morning at the Senior School
Mon 17 Mar, 2008
As part of their IT/DT work this term, the girls in year 5 made key rings. Firstly they designed them down in the Junior school in their IT lessons using computer software which enabled them to create the shape they wanted and to add writing and pictures to be etched onto the final product. Then they watched their designs being laser cut out of perspex using the Computer Aided Laser Manufacturing System Pro Plus in the DT department up in the Senior School. After looking carefully at the various stone gargoyles on the outside of the school building, they had a go at creating their own gargoyles out of plasticine and some looked very scary indeed! The girls really enjoyed their visit to the Senior School and will treasure their key rings for a long time to come.
