U9 Hockey fixtures at Kingswood School

Both our U9A and U9B teams were in action at today's annual hockey festival at Kingswood School.
The U9A side were putting in their first appearance in a hockey festival and came up against talented and well drilled opposition. Our team went down 2 - 0 and 3 - 1 to King Edward's and Monkton Combe, but were unbowed by these defeats. They steadily improved as the afternoon wore on, gainin a well earned 1 - 1 draw in their final match against The Paragon.
Particular congratulations got to Izzy Joliffe for outstanding work in defence and to Angel Chant for ball distribution and attacking flair.
The U9B side also found the going tough, losing 2- 0 to King Edward's and 2- 1 to Kingswood.. They took inspiration from the A team's resurgence and also came back with a spirited performance in the third match, running out winners against The Paragon by a 2 - 0 margin.
Well done to Lucy Bean for scoring all our goals and to Laura McNab who did sterling work in defence.
