U9 netball tournament

Sun 2 Mar, 2008

The U9A team played out two goalless draws in the opening fixtures, despite moving the ball up and down the court with great confidence. There were plenty of shooting opportunities, but no one managed to hit the net. We did open the scoring in the third game against Kingswood, but the opposition came back very strongly to eventually win the game. In the final game Wells Cathedral School took their chances well while we were unable to convert ours into goals. U9A results:  RHS V Perrot Hill           Draw 0-0RHS V Chafyn Grove      Draw 0-0RHS V Kingswood         Lost 2-1RHS V Wells Cathedral  Lost 4-1 U9B results: Player of the Day: Esme Ivory-Peters for her effort, work-rate, tenacity and determination!   The U9B team faced an altogether tougher proposition, as the Royal High was the only school to send a second team to the competition. Nonetheless our players showed both flair and pluck, securing a draw in one of their matches and putting up spirited opposition against other schools’ first team squads. They all received a joint ‘Player Of The Match’ award for their sportsmanship and determination. U9B results: RHS V The Downs         Lost 7-1RHS V Paragon             Draw 0-0RHS V Clifton                Lost 2-0RHS V All Hallows         Lost 5-0
