Welcome To The Junior School
Welcome to our website. I hope you like what you see and will want to come and visit us. I am going to write about the school as a pupil, but of course parents can read it too!
The Royal High School is an excellent, friendly, playful and amazing school. The first time I came I was petrified, but the second time I felt settled and I was so happy I came. From my point of view it’s 11 out of 10!
The Royal High is sporty, active and healthy on the sport side. There is a wide variety of sport including orienteering, swimming, hockey, netball and much more. The environment is safe, clean and tidy. Bins are everywhere for litter.
I love our gardens. They are lovely to play in. Trees, shrubs and flowers are everywhere and nature loves to visit us. In Spring we get bunches of snow-white snowdrops and then butter yellow daffodils. The cherry blossom comes out under the sun as well. The blackbirds have nested in a bush and whenever I go past this bush I see the black daddy blackbird and the brown mummy blackbird (I think they recognise me and like me!). Suet is kept on the bird table for the blackbirds and all the others we get. Squirrels, as well, like to come out in the garden to bury and dig up nuts.
Lessons are also fun with lots of subjects taught: maths, English, literacy, science, geography, history, art, RE, French, handwriting, PSHE, ICT, music and plenty more. The teachers are nice, enthusiastic, kind and funny. All the teachers have a different feel to them but that feel includes happiness and kindness and basically everything.
The clubs are either at lunch or after school. There are lots to choose from like gardening, gymnastics, First Aid and cookery. The clubs are great opportunities to get better or simply enjoy the sport or to do something different. Only the ballet, craft, modern dance, tennis and cookery clubs cost some money – most are free!
Lunch is fab and delicious and you always find what you want, as there is a salad bar to go with tuna, pork pies and other things. Puddings can be hot or cold - yoghurt and fruit are there if you don't want that day's pudding. You can also have milk at break time.
I think I am one of the luckiest girls in the world to be at the Royal High School. When I am older I hope to come back and see how the Royal High School is getting on or even be a teacher there!
I hope to see you soon – we love meeting new girls! BYE FOR NOW!
