Welcome to The Royal High Nursery School, Bath

The Nursery School Day

There are two sessions per day, with ten in a full week.  You can choose how many sessions your daughter attends, with three per week being the minimum for 3 year olds and five per week for 4 year olds.  Most children build up to the full ten sessions in the last term of Nursery School before joining the Reception class.  Several routines such as the register, ‘Snack Time’, ‘Special Helpers’, and ‘Today’s Leader’ are daily occurrences which provide stability and help new children settle quickly and securely.

From September 2008 the Nursery School day will be as follows:

Morning session:

08.00 a.m.  -1.00 p.m.  (including fruit snack and milk/water at 10.00 a.m. and hot lunch served at 11.45 a.m.)

Directed activities take place between 9.00 -11.30 a.m.

The lunch menu is posted on the school website and runs on a 4 week cycle with themed lunches every half term.

Afternoon session:

1.00 -6.00 p.m. (including fruit snack served at 2.00 p.m. and sandwiches at 5.00 p.m.)

Directed activities take place between 1.00 - 3.30 p.m.

You can drop your daughter off from 8.00 a.m. using the school’s “drop off zone” adjacent to the Nursery and she can be picked up at 3.30 p.m. Pupils wishing to stay until 6.00 p.m. must book a place with a minimum of 24 hours’ notice.
